TLS handshake failed, etc

Hi guys, I'm currently on a trial and having problems establishing and maintaining a connection. I'm trying to set it up on a Synology diskstation server, and have followed the instructions on the Synology thread in the general forum, but get this error in the log when trying to connect:

I have also tried using tunnelblick to connect using my mac and that seems to have the same problem. I have tried using TCP instead of UDP and that does connect briefly before disconnecting. Could it be my ISP blocking the ports or something? They have a firewall on their side but I have checked it and it's turned off. If anyone has any suggestions I'd be very grateful, I really won't be able to buy a proper subscription once my trial has ended without having these issues resolved really.
