Suddenly, I can't log in on my Mac.

 

Yes, I made sure to disconnect my other devices before trying. I guess AirVPN still thinks my PC is connected.

 

If AirVPN refuses to provide multiple device support, they damn well ought to set up a service whereby a new connection disconnects the old one. If I'm out of the house, need to VPN my iPhone and my PC's using it at home? I'm SOL, can't do a damn thing about it.

 

This is really a big problem for anyone with more than one device that might need to be using the VPN (ie: anyone) and it needs fixing. Given that nobody at all has only one Internet-connected device anymore, I can't really imagine a more pressing issue for the AirVPN development team to fix, other than security issues.

please click the button "Disconnect Now" in your "Client Area" for such purposes, it's there for that. Anyway your guess does not seem right, your account is not connected, maybe you have some other problem: feel free to open a ticket and always include the log files pertaining to the problem.

 

The one-connection per account is not a matter to be fixed, it's a feature. We are the only VPN service in the world, as far as we know, that provides a guaranteed allocated bandwidth with a real time servers monitor to show that we keep to our word.

 

Although this feature might not be appreciated by some people who just need lower quality or "whistles and bells" services with no care for anonymity and performance, we assure you that the fact that we are considered probably the top VPN service in terms of performance (in spite of the most computationally hungry cipher suite) is related to this as well.

I sometimes get the authentication failure type error if I connect disconnect a few times right after each other on my Mac. Usually I just have to wait awhile be fore trying to connect again, then I connect successfully.  Yeah, I also figure when it happens that AirVPN thinks I am still logged in when I'm not.

another factor to be considered is that UDP is connectionless, therefore if a client disconnects without notification to the server (for example because line dropped), the server has no way to know that the client is no more there until a ping times out (60 seconds). TCP is an alternative option, but under normal circumstances TCP performance is always inferior than UDP one.

You might want to look into setting up your home router with the VPN from air. The guide on this site was very easy to figure out and I am not an expert. All my home devices and behind the VPN, and I do have a second account for my phone when I am out of the house. I use tomato on my router, if you click on the enter button on this website, then find tomato or dd-wrt for whatever you have on your router.
