Issue with AirVPN/uTorrent

Recommended Posts

Good morning,

I have read the forums and tried to trouble shoot this issue on my own but I am unable to figure out what is going on.

Issue: When I connect to AirVPN and use uTorrent my download speeds are in the range of 2-100 kB/s. If I turn off AirVpn I'm downloading at around 1MB/s or more.

Background information:

ISP: Comcast 50Mbps

OS: Windows 7 64 bit

Processor: Intel Core i5-3570K CPU @ 3.40 GHz

RAM: 8 GB

Security\Firewall: Norton 360

How I connect to AirVPN:

1)Open AirVPN

2) Log in with credentials

3) Select the server based on best speed i see from visiting https://airvpn.org/status/ (see attached picture)

4) Select the mode 443 TCP and connect ( see attached picture)

Troubleshooting steps I have done:

1) Made sure Norton 360 firewall was allowing uTorrent and AirVPN.

2) Forward port from AirVPN to uTorrent (screenshot attached)

3) Made sure uTorrent port was set to AirVPN port. (screenshot attached)

4) I have also looked at my AirVPN log but don't see anything wrong. I have attached that below also.

Thanks for the reply,

I have disabled "NAT-PMP Port Mapping" in uTorrent.

I have also tried the UDP ports but in the log I will always get

Authenticate/Decrypt packet error: bad packet ID (may be a replay): [ #487 ] -- see the man page entry for --no-replay and --replay-window for more info or silence this warning with --mute-replay-warnings

I can still only get my download speeds in the 30kB range. Any other suggestions.

Thank you

Sorry for off-topic, but this is by far the best issue description/"forum help ticket" I ever seen in these forums. It's surprisingly easy to read - what about making this as default for all issues?

Hello,

since you are in the USA and you're a Comcast customer, probably the choice of a UK server is not optimal for your purpose. Please try a server in Canada.

Kind regards

Good morning,

I have continued to have problems. I'm not sure If I am doing something wrong or what but I'm willing to try and change whatever settings I must to figure it out.

For example: I connected to Cephei which is 384/1000Mbit/s. I tried with ports 53 and 80. Fasted download speed I received was 50KB/s. This is also what happens on pretty much every server I connect to. If you need more information regarding my set up I will be happy to provide it.

Thanks for any help anyone provides.

Side Note: If I connect VIA my ISP I get speeds up to 2MB/s on torrents. However, I know connect through VPN and a server in Canada or anywhere in the world is going to slow it down drastically. But I have friends that use this software that get great speeds but I'm sitting here having to wait 2 weeks for a 5GB file. I'm just missing something or doing something wrong.
