MM21 1 Posted ... Good morning,I have read the forums and tried to trouble shoot this issue on my own but I am unable to figure out what is going on. Issue: When I connect to AirVPN and use uTorrent my download speeds are in the range of 2-100 kB/s. If I turn off AirVpn I'm downloading at around 1MB/s or more. Background information:ISP: Comcast 50Mbps OS: Windows 7 64 bitProcessor: Intel Core i5-3570K CPU @ 3.40 GHzRAM: 8 GB Security\Firewall: Norton 360 How I connect to AirVPN:1)Open AirVPN2) Log in with credentials3) Select the server based on best speed i see from visiting https://airvpn.org/status/ (see attached picture) 4) Select the mode 443 TCP and connect ( see attached picture) Troubleshooting steps I have done:1) Made sure Norton 360 firewall was allowing uTorrent and AirVPN.2) Forward port from AirVPN to uTorrent (screenshot attached) 3) Made sure uTorrent port was set to AirVPN port. (screenshot attached) 4) I have also looked at my AirVPN log but don't see anything wrong. I have attached that below also. 1/27/2014 - 11:29 AM AirVPN client version: 1.9 1/27/2014 - 11:29 AM Reading options from C:\Users\Maczko\AppData\Roaming\AirVPN\Air\1.0.0.0\AirVPN.xml 1/27/2014 - 11:29 AM OpenVPN bundle version: OpenVPN 2.3.2 1/27/2014 - 11:29 AM OpenVPN current version: OpenVPN 2.3.2 1/27/2014 - 11:29 AM Ready. 1/27/2014 - 11:29 AM Login... 1/27/2014 - 11:29 AM Login success. 1/27/2014 - 11:29 AM Contacting service... 1/27/2014 - 11:29 AM Connecting... 1/27/2014 - 11:29 AM OpenVPN 2.3.2 x86_64-w64-mingw32 [sSL (OpenSSL)] [LZO] [PKCS11] [eurephia] [iPv6] built on Aug 22 2013 1/27/2014 - 11:29 AM Socket Buffers: R=[8192->8192] S=[8192->8192] 1/27/2014 - 11:29 AM Attempting to establish TCP connection with [AF_INET]78.129.153.40:443 1/27/2014 - 11:29 AM TCP connection established with [AF_INET]78.129.153.40:4431/27/2014 - 11:29 AM TCPv4_CLIENT link local: [undef] 1/27/2014 - 11:29 AM TCPv4_CLIENT link remote: [AF_INET]78.129.153.40:443 1/27/2014 - 11:29 AM TLS: Initial packet from [AF_INET]78.129.153.40:443, sid=7cf24ca3 08b1cca9 1/27/2014 - 11:29 AM VERIFY OK: depth=1, C=IT, ST=IT, L=Perugia, O=airvpn.org, CN=airvpn.org CA, emailAddress=info@airvpn.org 1/27/2014 - 11:29 AM VERIFY OK: nsCertType=SERVER 1/27/2014 - 11:29 AM VERIFY OK: depth=0, C=IT, ST=IT, L=Perugia, O=airvpn.org, CN=server, emailAddress=info@airvpn.org 1/27/2014 - 11:29 AM Data Channel Encrypt: Cipher 'AES-256-CBC' initialized with 256 bit key1/27/2014 - 11:29 AM Data Channel Encrypt: Using 160 bit message hash 'SHA1' for HMAC authentication 1/27/2014 - 11:29 AM Data Channel Decrypt: Cipher 'AES-256-CBC' initialized with 256 bit key1/27/2014 - 11:29 AM Data Channel Decrypt: Using 160 bit message hash 'SHA1' for HMAC authentication 1/27/2014 - 11:29 AM Control Channel: TLSv1, cipher TLSv1/SSLv3 DHE-RSA-AES256-SHA, 2048 bit RSA 1/27/2014 - 11:29 AM [server] Peer Connection Initiated with [AF_INET]78.129.153.40:443 1/27/2014 - 11:29 AM SENT CONTROL [server]: 'PUSH_REQUEST' (status=1) 1/27/2014 - 11:29 AM PUSH: Received control message: 'PUSH_REPLY,redirect-gateway def1,dhcp-option DNS 10.5.0.1,comp-lzo no,route 10.5.0.1,topology net30,ping 10,ping-restart 60,ifconfig 10.5.4.174 10.5.4.173' 1/27/2014 - 11:29 AM OPTIONS IMPORT: timers and/or timeouts modified 1/27/2014 - 11:29 AM OPTIONS IMPORT: LZO parms modified 1/27/2014 - 11:29 AM OPTIONS IMPORT: --ifconfig/up options modified 1/27/2014 - 11:29 AM OPTIONS IMPORT: route options modified 1/27/2014 - 11:29 AM OPTIONS IMPORT: --ip-win32 and/or --dhcp-option options modified 1/27/2014 - 11:29 AM do_ifconfig, tt->ipv6=0, tt->did_ifconfig_ipv6_setup=0 1/27/2014 - 11:29 AM open_tun, tt->ipv6=0 1/27/2014 - 11:29 AM TAP-WIN32 device [Local Area Connection 2] opened: \\.\Global\{7AB4EB60-BAC4-497E-B083-8F91F540BE08}.tap 1/27/2014 - 11:29 AM TAP-Windows Driver Version 9.9 1/27/2014 - 11:29 AM Notified TAP-Windows driver to set a DHCP IP/netmask of 10.5.4.174/255.255.255.252 on interface {7AB4EB60-BAC4-497E-B083-8F91F540BE08} [DHCP-serv: 10.5.4.173, lease-time: 31536000] 1/27/2014 - 11:29 AM Successful ARP Flush on interface [27] {7AB4EB60-BAC4-497E-B083-8F91F540BE08} 1/27/2014 - 11:29 AM TEST ROUTES: 2/2 succeeded len=1 ret=1 a=0 u/d=up 1/27/2014 - 11:29 AM C:\Windows\system32\route.exe ADD 78.129.153.40 MASK 255.255.255.255 192.168.1.1 1/27/2014 - 11:29 AM ROUTE: CreateIpForwardEntry succeeded with dwForwardMetric1=25 and dwForwardType=4 1/27/2014 - 11:29 AM Route addition via IPAPI succeeded [adaptive] 1/27/2014 - 11:29 AM C:\Windows\system32\route.exe ADD 0.0.0.0 MASK 128.0.0.0 10.5.4.173 1/27/2014 - 11:29 AM ROUTE: CreateIpForwardEntry succeeded with dwForwardMetric1=30 and dwForwardType=4 1/27/2014 - 11:29 AM Route addition via IPAPI succeeded [adaptive] 1/27/2014 - 11:29 AM C:\Windows\system32\route.exe ADD 128.0.0.0 MASK 128.0.0.0 10.5.4.173 1/27/2014 - 11:29 AM ROUTE: CreateIpForwardEntry succeeded with dwForwardMetric1=30 and dwForwardType=4 1/27/2014 - 11:29 AM Route addition via IPAPI succeeded [adaptive] 1/27/2014 - 11:29 AM C:\Windows\system32\route.exe ADD 10.5.0.1 MASK 255.255.255.255 10.5.4.173 1/27/2014 - 11:29 AM ROUTE: CreateIpForwardEntry succeeded with dwForwardMetric1=30 and dwForwardType=4 1/27/2014 - 11:29 AM Route addition via IPAPI succeeded [adaptive] 1/27/2014 - 11:29 AM Initialization Sequence Completed 1/27/2014 - 11:29 AM Starting Management Interface... 1/27/2014 - 11:29 AM Checking... 1/27/2014 - 11:29 AM Retrieve statistics... 1/27/2014 - 11:29 AM Connected. Staff 10014 Posted ... Hello! Please try UDP mode to ports 53 and 80. Furthermore, disable "NAT-PMP Port Mapping" in uTorrent. Kind regards Quote Share this post Link to post
MM21 1 Posted ... Thanks for the reply,I have disabled "NAT-PMP Port Mapping" in uTorrent.I have also tried the UDP ports but in the log I will always get Authenticate/Decrypt packet error: bad packet ID (may be a replay): [ #487 ] -- see the man page entry for --no-replay and --replay-window for more info or silence this warning with --mute-replay-warnings I can still only get my download speeds in the 30kB range. Any other suggestions. Thank you Quote Share this post Link to post
Staff 10014 Posted ... Hello, sporadic bad packets IDs in UDP mode can be totally normal. If they are very frequent, they are a symptom of either a poor line quality or a replay attack https://airvpn.org/topic/3773-pls-help-strange-logs/?do=findComment&comment=3784 Kind regards Quote Share this post Link to post

Staff 10014 Posted ... Hello, since you are in the USA and you're a Comcast customer, probably the choice of a UK server is not optimal for your purpose. Please try a server in Canada. Kind regards Quote Share this post Link to post
MM21 1 Posted ... Good morning,I have continued to have problems. I'm not sure If I am doing something wrong or what but I'm willing to try and change whatever settings I must to figure it out. For example: I connected to Cephei which is 384/1000Mbit/s. I tried with ports 53 and 80. Fasted download speed I received was 50KB/s. This is also what happens on pretty much every server I connect to. If you need more information regarding my set up I will be happy to provide it. Thanks for any help anyone provides. MM21 1 Posted ... Side Note: If I connect VIA my ISP I get speeds up to 2MB/s on torrents. However, I know connect through VPN and a server in Canada or anywhere in the world is going to slow it down drastically. But I have friends that use this software that get great speeds but I'm sitting here having to wait 2 weeks for a 5GB file. I'm just missing something or doing something wrong.
