New Problem with DNS leaks

I've been using the OpenVPN along with the  dnsfixsetup.exe install of the bat files for a few months with good results according to DNSleaktest and the IP/DNS test sites. Now both sites are showing Comcast results so apparently I have a DNS leak problem. Are there new approaches or any other suggestions to solve this? Thanks!

Does anyone have any advice? As I indicated, for a few months I wasn't having any problems using the dnsfixsetup.exe bat files along with OpenVPN. DNSLeaktest and IPDNS both only showed the AirVPN DNS servers. Now. both show multiple Comcast servers (Comcast is my ISP). I'm concerned. Has something changed that would cause the fix I was using to stop working? Should I be trying a different approach? I get the same DNS leaks using the AirVPN client.

Here's something that I've now discovered: it seems like the Comcast DNS leaks that I'm seeing are somehow related to IPV6. This is enable by default in Windows 7 and 8, at least it is on my systems. When I disabled it (via unchecking it in the adapter Properties list), the DNS leaks don't appear via the test sites.

 

I admit I'm confused by this, since I think IPV6 has been enabled on my systems for quite a while and I wasn't getting the DNS leaks when I did the necessary steps outlined in here in the forums, until recently. I'm also wondering if this Comcast has changed something with regards to this.

 

I have very little knowledge about IPV6 details, including IPV6 DNS. Will disabling IPV6 like I I did, cause any problems? Any help and insight into this would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks!

Yes, just disable ipv6, and test with http://ipleak.net/

Thanks, that's what I've been doing. I've found that I also need to add the AIRVPN DNS (10.4.0.1): without that I can't get anywhere.

 

BTW, is this documented here on the forums?

 

This leaves with some questions: what is about ipv6 that is causing the leaks? What are the default ipv6 DNS entries and where are the coming from (e.g my ISP)? Is there anyway to a reverse lookup on the ipvs dns?
