what programming libraries are needed in WinXP ?

Recommended Posts

I like to run my VPN inside an Oracle VM VirtualBox session with the minimal amount of software in Windows XP.

I'm able to get OpenVPN-GUI and airvpn's .ovpn files to work fine, but I can't get the airvpn.exe client to run.

airvpn.exe application error:

the application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000135).

Click on OK to terminate the application.

I guess it needs .NET or assumes some other programming libraries are loaded for airvpn's custom executable,

so can you tell me exactly what that exe file expects my PC to have running in order for it to work on it's own?

Hello,

the .NET framework version that's required by the Air client is specified in the instructions for Windows (menu "Enter"->"Windows" in our web site). To keep the minimal amount of software in the VM, do not install the framework and do not run the Air client, the OpenVPN GUI is just fine.

Kind regards
