kahlereese 0 Posted ... Hello, I'm having some issues with the rest of my network when I'm logged into the VPN. LAN traffic from device to device slows down considerably. If I try to stream a video from Youtube to the iPad it will just buffer. Currently I just use it for torrent, so leave it on at night when the rest of the house is asleep. In my head, I imagine this is what is happening. The VPN tunnel takes a priority for my network traffic. Anything else needs to squeeze around the edges, and doesn't have the same importance. I assume this is maintain the connection. Am I close? I haven't seen many people with this problem, so it might just be me. Is there a way to improve non-VPN internet connection and general LAN traffic? Thank you-Kahle Quote Share this post Link to post

I'm not really qualified to say anything specifically about VPN issues, but I've noticed that bittorrent is quite efficient in maxing out the capacity of whatever network one is on. It could be that using a VPN adds something to the mix that pushes things over the edge. (but that's really just guessing) Quote Share this post Link to post
kahlereese 0 Posted ... Am happy to test. I use the port forwarding service as well, but never thought it was specific to the Bit Torrent client or port forwarding. I will do a control with it running tonight and update. Thanks-Kahle Quote Share this post Link to post
